Send new credit notifications using Shopify email system
Koin now supports sending store credit notification emails directly through Shopify’s built-in email system.
This allows your store to use Shopify’s native templates and delivery service for faster, more reliable communication with your customers.
Use cases for Shopify Email Notifications:
- Email notification on the program
- Notify the customer of a single adjustment
- Notify the customer of a bulk adjustment
- Notify the customer option for instant credit flow action
What is Shopify’s built-in email?
You can preview and test how the store credit email will look and function directly from your Shopify admin.
- Go to your Shopify Settings > Notifications > Customer notifications > Store credit issued.
- Click "Send test" in the top right corner to send yourself a sample email. The test message will be sent to the Sender email configured in your Shopify store settings.

How to set up email notification in Koin
- Go to your Koin Dashboard > Programs.
- Select your Cashback or Custom program.
- Find the Email notification settings section.
You will see the available options for activating email notifications, depending on your account type:
Email notification on the program:
a. Programs that were activated before the update (December 18, 2025)
For users who had already been using Koin before this update, you’ll see two options:
- Koin notifications
- Shopify notifications
You can choose to continue using your existing Koin default email or switch to Shopify notifications.

Note: Only programs created before December 18, 2025 still display both options. For new programs after this date, please read section (b) below.
b. Programs that are activated after the update (December 18, 2025)
For new users or those who have never activated email notifications before, the setting will only show one option - Shopify notifications.
This means your program will use Shopify’s email system to send credit notifications if you click to enable email feature.

Notify the customer of a single adjustment
Use this option when you want to manually adjust the balance for one specific customer and notify the customer via email.

Notify the customer of a bulk adjustment
Use this option when you want to manually adjust the balance for multiple customers at once and notify them via email.

Notify the customer option for instant credit flow action
Koin fully supports sending Shopify email notifications when issuing credits automatically through Shopify Flow at two actions:
- Add credit to specific customer (by credit adjustment)
- Add credit to specific company location (by credit adjustment)
