Send credit notification email with Shopify Email
To automate email notifications for Koin, you can use Shopify Flow along with an email service. There are two methods to set up email notifications: using Shopify Email and Klaviyo.
This instruction is for the case you use Shopify Email app to send automated email.
1.1. Set Up Email Campaign on Shopify Email
Step 1: Install Shopify Email
- Ensure that Shopify Email is installed in your Shopify store.
Step 2: Set Up Email Sender and Email Template on Shopify Email
- Configure your email sender details.
- Create an email template that matches your notification needs.

1.2. Set Up Email Notification Flow on Shopify Flow
Step 1: Open Shopify Flow
- Navigate to Shopify Admin > Apps > Shopify Flow.
Step 2: Create a New Workflow
- Click Create workflow to begin setting up your email notification process.
Step 3: Select a Trigger from Koin
Koin provides three different triggers to start the workflow:
- Trigger 1: Store Credit Issuance Failed: The workflow starts when store credit fails to be issued due to an error or other reasons.
- Trigger 2: Store Credit Issued: The workflow starts when store credit is successfully issued to a customer.
- Trigger 3: Store Credit Pending: The workflow starts when store credit has not been issued yet and is waiting for further action.
Step 4: Choose the Action "Send Marketing Email"
- Select "Send marketing email" as the action from Shopify Email.
Step 5: Select an Email Template
Choose the appropriate email template created in Shopify Email to send the notification. You can also create your own Email template.
Once configured, workflows will automatically trigger email notifications based on credit issuance events.
